Leather & Labdanum

Two houses, one candle. Sloan Rose brought the method, the reclaimed vessel, the hand pour, the engraving. iA brought the scent, worn leather & warm resin, the smell of a rack of finished garments waiting for the doors to open.

iA is a luxury clothing brand, made to order in New York, every piece cut for the person who asks for it. We poured this candle for the presentation of their first collection in Paris, & it behaves the way their clothes do, nothing kept in stock, made only when you ask, one of one.

The showroom is over. The scent stays.

[PRODUCT FEATURES]

• 100% soy wax, a clean even burn, around 40 hours with proper care.
• Fragrance oils free of phthalates & parabens. Vegan & cruelty-free.
• The vessel: reclaimed aluminum, given a second life. Once the wax is gone, clean it & keep it, a pen cup, a bud vase, a small keepsake.
• Wick care: trim to ¼ inch before lighting, burn no more than 4 hours at a time.

Leather & Labdanum is not kept in stock. Each candle is poured by hand when you order it, engraved, & finished one at a time. Allow 5 to 7 business days for the pour before it ships from our New York atelier, tracking arrives by email.

Burn safely. Before first use, trim the wick to about a quarter inch & always trim before relighting. Burn on a level, heat resistant surface away from anything flammable, drafts, children, & pets. On the first burn, allow the wax to melt evenly across the full surface, which can take up to a couple of hours, to prevent tunneling. Never burn for more than fours hours at a time. Stop burning when about a quarter inch of wax remains at the base. Never leave a burning candle unattended. The vessel becomes hot while lit & stays warm after extinguishing, so let it cool fully before handling. 

Each candle is reclaimed, hand-poured, & hand-engraved, making it truly one of a kind.
